The G7 leaders urged Iran to de-escalate tensions, while emphasizing Israel's right to self-defense.

According to News1 and others on the 16th (local time), through a joint statement at the G7 summit held in Canada, the leaders stated, "We affirm that Israel has the right to defend itself," and "We once again express our support for Israel's security."

Regarding Iran, they stated, "We have consistently made clear that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons," and emphasized, "We urge that resolving the Iran crisis lead to a broad de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza."

U.S. President Donald Trump also agreed to this statement. Initially, President Trump had reportedly decided not to sign the joint statement calling for de-escalation between Iran and Israel.
