The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) urged Iran to de-escalate tensions, while emphasizing Israel's right to self-defense.
According to News1 and others on the 16th (local time), through a joint statement at the G7 summit held in Canada, the leaders declared, "We affirm that Israel has the right to defend itself," and added, "We once again express our support for Israel's security."
Regarding Iran, they emphasized, "We have consistently made it clear that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons," and urged, "The resolution of the Iran crisis should lead to a broad de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip."
