The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) urged Iran to de-escalate tensions and emphasized that Israel has the right to defend itself.

According to News1 and others on the 16th (local time), through the G7 summit's joint statement held in Canada, the leaders stated, "We affirm that Israel has the right to defend itself," and "Once again, we express our support for Israel's security."

Regarding Iran, the statement said, "We have consistently made it clear that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons," and emphasized, "We urge that resolving the Iran crisis leads to a broad de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza."
