The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) called for de-escalation towards Iran while emphasizing that Israel has the right to defend itself.

According to News1 and others on the 16th (local time), through a joint statement from the G7 Summit held in Canada, the leaders declared, "We affirm that Israel has the right to defend itself," and stated, "We once again express our support for Israel’s security."

Regarding Iran, they said, "We have consistently made it clear that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons," and emphasized, "We urge that a resolution to the Iran crisis leads to a broad de-escalation of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip."

This statement was also agreed upon by U.S. President Donald Trump. Initially, President Trump was reported to have decided not to sign the joint statement calling for de-escalation between Iran and Israel.
