On the 13th, Zhao wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "I'm not against memecoins, and I like memes themselves," but added, "If you jump into every memecoin created based on any thoughtless tweet I've posted, you will almost certainly lose money."
He continued, "In most cases, I don't have memes in mind—I just tweet somewhat childish, unfunny jokes that occur to me in the moment," explaining that "I'm not writing posts with memecoins in mind."
