Iran reiterated its conditions for ending the war and warned against prolonging negotiations.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, speaker of Iran’s parliament, wrote on X on May 11 that there is no alternative to recognizing “the rights of the Iranian people” set out in Tehran’s 14-point proposal. Any other approach would fail repeatedly without producing results.

He added that the longer negotiations are delayed, the more the cost will ultimately fall on US taxpayers.

Tasnim News Agency earlier disclosed Iran’s latest negotiating proposal, which Tehran said it had sent to the US through Pakistan. The 14-point plan is centered on ending the war and includes guarantees against renewed military aggression, the withdrawal of US forces from areas neighboring Iran, the lifting of the maritime blockade, the release of frozen assets, war reparations, the removal of sanctions on Iran, broader peace across fronts including Lebanon, and a restructuring of the system for managing the Strait of Hormuz.

President Donald Trump said on May 10 that the proposal was “completely unacceptable.”
