Nvidia shares hit a record high after reports that Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang will join President Donald Trump’s trip to China.

Cointelegraph reported on May 13 that Nvidia rose above $224.15 intraday after news emerged that Huang would accompany Trump as part of a business delegation to China. The company’s market capitalization also climbed to $5.4 trillion.

Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, reported that Trump made a last-minute request for Huang to join the trip. Huang was not included on the list of business executives traveling with the president that the White House released earlier this week.

Tesla Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk and Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook are also reported to be part of Trump’s business delegation to China.

Trump is scheduled to hold a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on May 14 and 15.
