Hyperliquid has pushed back against calls for tighter oversight from global derivatives exchanges.

On May 15, the Hyperliquid Policy Center said concerns raised by traditional financial institutions including CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange Inc. over potential disruption in the commodities derivatives market were "completely baseless."

Hyperliquid said its system creates a hostile environment for market manipulators. All trading records are fully disclosed on-chain in real time, it said, and that transparency not only deters illicit activity but also makes market surveillance easier for regulators and law enforcement.

The platform also highlighted the efficiency of a market that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Because prices continue to move on weekends and overnight, when traditional exchanges are closed, it said on-chain markets eliminate trading gaps and significantly improve price discovery for market participants.

Hyperliquid acknowledged that the current US legal framework is not fully aligned with derivatives markets built on public blockchains. It said it would still work closely with policymakers in Washington to help bring on-chain markets within the regulatory perimeter.
