The Ethereum Foundation continues to lose key personnel, fueling community concerns over its organizational restructuring.

CoinDesk reported on May 18 that Carl Beek and Julian Ma recently left the Ethereum Foundation.

Several other major contributors had already announced they were stepping back from foundation activities or departing, including Barnabé Monnot, Tim Beiko, Trent Van Epps and Alex Stokes.

Market participants are linking the latest personnel changes to the foundation’s new operating direction.

In newly announced operating principles, the Ethereum Foundation said it would focus on supporting the ecosystem rather than serving as a central authority for Ethereum.

Discussion has continued within the Ethereum community over the foundation’s changing role, its governance structure and the direction of development.

The market is watching how the departure of core personnel could affect development across the Ethereum ecosystem and the network’s long-term strategy.
