Korbit said on May 19 that it will hold a weeklong event through May 25 to mark Bitcoin Pizza Day.
Bitcoin Pizza Day commemorates May 22, 2010, when Bitcoin was first used in a real-world transaction. The day refers to the purchase by U.S. programmer Laszlo Hanyecz, who bought two pizzas with 10,000 BTC in what is widely known as the first real-world payment using a virtual asset.
The event consists of three missions offering Domino’s Pizza mobile gift certificates. Korbit will award rewards to a total of 156 members through a drawing among users who meet the requirements for each mission.
The first mission is for users who answer all of the Pizza Day quiz questions on the event page correctly and trade at least $38 worth of Bitcoin. Korbit will select 52 winners from eligible participants.
The second mission targets users who sign up for Korbit for the first time during the event period and trade at least $38 worth of Bitcoin. Another 52 winners will be selected through a drawing.
The final mission is for users who trade at least $38 worth of Bitcoin for seven consecutive days during the event period. Korbit plans to choose 52 winners from that group. More details are available in the notices section on Korbit’s website.
A Korbit official said the company prepared the event to commemorate Bitcoin Pizza Day, which began in 2010. Korbit will continue working to offer customers a variety of services and benefits, the official added.
