US Nimitz Carrier Strike Group Reaches Caribbean Near Cuba
Forecast Trend Report by Period

The US aircraft carrier strike group led by the Nimitz has arrived in the Caribbean near Cuba, signaling a renewed rise in tensions between Washington and Havana.
CNN reported on May 20 that US Southern Command announced the arrival of the Nimitz carrier strike group in waters near Cuba.
The group is reported to consist of the aircraft carrier, its embarked air wing and at least one guided-missile destroyer.
On the same day, the Trump administration announced charges against former Cuban leader Raúl Castro.
Cuban authorities had previously expressed concern that the US indictment could serve as a prelude to military intervention.
Former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was also transferred to the US in a US military operation in January this year after being indicted by Washington, and is now on trial.
The US has recently stepped up military pressure in Latin America, citing regional security, narcotics and sanctions issues.
Markets are watching how rising tensions between the US and Cuba could affect geopolitical risk in Latin America and broader international diplomatic relations.
