Iran Parliament Speaker Says Any Renewed Trump War Would Draw a More Destructive Response

Iran warned it would respond more forcefully if US President Donald Trump takes further military action.

Tasnim News reported on May 23 that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf made the remarks during a meeting with Pakistan's army chief.

"If Trump makes a foolish choice and returns to war, Iran's response will be even stronger and more destructive," Ghalibaf said.

He said Iran had reorganized its military capabilities during the ceasefire period and would defend its rights through diplomacy, just as it had defended the country on the battlefield.

Iran would not compromise on the rights of its people in dealing with what he called a dishonest and untrustworthy counterpart, he added.
