CENTCOM described the operation as a response to Iran's “unwarranted and continued aggression.”
The strikes marked a second consecutive day of US military action after Washington attacked Iran a day earlier. The US had previously struck military facilities inside Iran in response to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz near Oman.
