Iran said it has not yet made a final decision on an agreement with the US, after President Donald Trump said a deal with Tehran was effectively complete.
Iran's Foreign Ministry said on June 11 that the country had not yet reached a final decision on an agreement with the US, according to state-run IRNA.
Relevant authorities are reviewing the details of the draft agreement. The government will officially announce the outcome once a final conclusion is reached.
The remarks came shortly after Trump said a deal with Iran was effectively wrapped up and could be signed in Europe as early as this weekend.
Earlier, Iran's semi-official Fars news agency reported that the US had accepted language proposed by Iran and that the text was likely to be approved in Tehran.
Fars also reported, however, that a final agreement and formal approval procedures had not yet been completed.
Markets view the US-Iran talks as having made substantial progress. Still, uncertainty may persist until any agreement is formally signed because final approval from the Iranian government and the country's top leadership remains outstanding.
