A signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding ending the war between the US and Iran will most likely be held in Switzerland, CNN reported.
CNN reported on June 12, citing multiple sources, that Geneva is the leading candidate to host the signing ceremony for the MOU between the US and Iran. A day earlier, President Donald Trump said the US had reached "a great agreement" with Iran on the war. He added that the deal would be finalized within days and that the signing ceremony would probably take place in Europe.
CNN said the ceremony would mark the start of "phase two" diplomatic negotiations to implement the MOU. The agreement is being called the "Islamabad Declaration" in recognition of Pakistan's key mediating role, it reported.
Still, nothing has been finalized. An Iranian source indicated that Vienna is also under discussion as a possible venue.
