Israel is opposing any US move to lift sanctions on Iran, according to CNN.

Citing sources, CNN reported on June 12 that Israel is pressuring Washington to block the release of frozen Iranian assets as part of a ceasefire agreement.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been speaking regularly with US President Donald Trump, CNN reported. The two also spoke on the night of June 11, shortly after Trump said several Middle Eastern countries supported the proposed peace deal and that Israel was among them.

Netanyahu was reportedly surprised by Trump's June 11 announcement that a memorandum of understanding between the US and Iran to end the war was close. "Israel was completely unaware that any deal with Iran was imminent, or that any agreement had been approved," a source told CNN.

Axios also reported, citing multiple sources, that Netanyahu had not been notified in advance of Trump's announcement.
