US Shoots Down Iranian Drones Headed for Strait of Hormuz
Forecast Trend Report by Period

The US military shot down several Iranian one-way attack drones headed toward the Strait of Hormuz, even as Washington and Tehran reported progress in peace talks.
Reuters, citing a source familiar with the matter, reported on June 12 that US forces downed several Iranian drones flying toward the strait.
The source, who requested anonymity, said the drones posed a credible threat to commercial vessels attempting to transit the waterway. The clash came as Washington and Tehran said they had recently made positive progress in peace negotiations, heightening concern in the market and the shipping industry.
Earlier on June 12, President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran to stop drone attacks on ships seeking to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. “Iran must stop launching drones at ships,” Trump said. “Tehran had better come to its senses right away.”
