U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis emphasized the importance of digital assets and called for protecting the industry.
In a post on X on June 17, Lummis wrote that “sound money” is part of the foundation on which the US was built and that digital assets are restoring access to it for all Americans.
“That is worth protecting,” she added.
Lummis is considered one of Congress’s leading pro-crypto lawmakers. She has repeatedly pushed for a clear regulatory framework for Bitcoin and the broader digital-asset industry, and has been active in legislative discussions on stablecoins and market structure.
More recently, she sent a letter to the US Treasury arguing that states’ supervisory authority should be preserved in the stablecoin regulatory process, underscoring the need to support the digital-asset industry.
