Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin has launched a public test of whether AI-based text analysis can pierce anonymity.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on June 22, Buterin wrote that he had published some fairly important Ethereum-related documents under names other than his own over the past decade.

“If AI can really break anonymity, try to find those documents,” he wrote. “I don’t know how easy or hard this will be, but I’m curious about the results.”

The comments appear intended to test claims that AI can identify authors by analyzing writing style and patterns of expression.
