The Korea Exchange held a briefing in the US for global biotech companies as it steps up efforts to attract overseas listings to South Korea’s capital market.

The exchange said June 23 it hosted the event for executives and employees of global biotech companies at BIO USA 2026 in San Diego. BIO USA is the world’s largest biotech and pharmaceutical exhibition. About 20,000 people from 72 countries attended last year.

More than 150 representatives from global companies attended the session. In a panel discussion, the exchange highlighted the advantages of the Kosdaq market and presented cases of foreign companies listed on the bourse. Panel participants included Samsung Securities, Eugene Investment & Securities, Korea Investment Partners, Yoon & Yang LLC and Samil PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The Korea Exchange also held one-on-one meetings with promising US biotech companies. It introduced programs including Kosdaq’s technology special listing track as part of its efforts to draw overseas companies to the domestic market.

Min Kyung-wook, vice chairman of the Korea Exchange, said the bourse will continue tailored outreach to encourage overseas companies to list in South Korea and help Kosdaq strengthen its position as a global market.
