Bithumb said Monday it had become the first South Korean cryptocurrency exchange to surpass 100,000 YouTube subscribers, earning the platform’s Silver Play Button creator award.
The YouTube Silver Play Button is awarded to channels with at least 100,000 subscribers. Bithumb’s official channel is the first in South Korea’s crypto industry to reach that mark, the company said.
Bithumb will hold a subscriber appreciation event on its official YouTube channel through July 2. Users who subscribe to the channel during the event period, post a congratulatory comment and verify both actions through the participation link will be entered into a drawing. The company will give chicken gift certificates to 100 winners. It plans to announce the winners on July 7 through the channel’s community page.
Bithumb has offered a range of content through its official YouTube channel as a communication platform for investors since launching it in 2017. Subscriber growth accelerated after a channel overhaul in June 2025 that significantly strengthened its market and economics content.
Its flagship content includes "bToknomics," an economy and personal-finance talk program; "Bithumb Road," which covers the investment experiences of individual investors; and "One Shot Interview," which introduces investor returns. The channel also delivers major market trends through its daily "AI Coin Prices" content.
A Bithumb official said the Silver Play Button was the result of subscriber interest and support, along with the company’s efforts to provide high-quality content. The company prepared the event to celebrate the 100,000-subscriber milestone and express its gratitude, the official added.
