Gillibrand Says President, Members of Congress Should Be Barred From Issuing Digital Assets
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, a New York Democrat, said ethics rules are needed to bar the president and members of Congress from issuing digital assets.
Eleanor Terrett, host of CryptoAmerica, said on July 3 that Gillibrand renewed her call for tighter digital-asset ethics rules after President Donald Trump’s financial disclosure was made public.
The disclosure showed Trump earned more than $600 million from the TRUMP memecoin in 2025.
Gillibrand said ethics legislation is needed to prevent the president, members of Congress and their spouses from issuing or endorsing digital assets.
