Elon Musk, chief executive officer of X and Tesla, said X will open-source its entire codebase.
In a post on X on July 15, Musk wrote that the company will release the full codebase without exception once it completes a review of security vulnerabilities.
X also plans to invite an independent third-party reviewer to verify that the live production system matches the open-source code disclosed to the public, he said.
"Trust through complete transparency is the only reliable way," Musk added. He said he will increase transparency across the platform's overall operations.
