Trump Truth Social Early-Access Feed Priced at $100,000 a Month Sparks Wall Street Backlash

Trump posts delivered 0.001 second ahead of the public feed

A paid data service that would let users receive President Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts milliseconds before the general public is drawing criticism on Wall Street.
The Financial Times reported on July 17 that Trump Media & Technology Group has been in talks with prospective clients about launching a “Truth API” service and floated a price of about $100,000 a month. The company operates Truth Social and is controlled by Trump family shareholders. Trump has 12.9 million followers on the platform.
The Truth API would deliver the president’s posts milliseconds faster than the standard feed. Proprietary trading firms and hedge funds often pay steep fees for ultrafast data services to get market-moving information ahead of rivals. Trump has used Truth Social to announce tariffs and foreign, diplomatic and security policy decisions, making the service a potential draw for high-frequency traders and quant hedge funds.
In marketing materials, Trump Media highlighted 10 presidential posts that it said moved markets. The materials said international oil prices rose as much as 6% intraday after Trump wrote in early June that the US would attack Iran “very strongly tonight.” On April 9 last year, he also posted that “this is a great time to buy,” and the company claimed the S&P 500 later regained $4 trillion in market capitalization.
The arrangement has prompted pushback on Wall Street because market participants would have to pay a company tied to the president’s family to see his posts first. One hedge fund executive said firms that receive related news later than competitors could suffer significant losses, effectively forcing market participants to subscribe to the service.
