Two US service members were killed and one was reported missing in Jordan in an Iranian attack. Unidentified remains were later found during the search for the missing service member. Separately, another US service member was killed in Iraq while disposing of unexploded ordnance from an Iranian drone.

US Central Command said on X on July 19 that two US troops were killed and one was missing in Jordan after Iran's July 17 attack.

The search for the missing service member led to the discovery of unidentified remains at the scene on July 19, and identification procedures are under way.

In a separate incident in northern Iraq on July 18, one US service member was killed while carrying out a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance recovered from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. Another US service member suffered minor injuries and is receiving treatment.

CENTCOM did not disclose further details, including the identities of the missing and dead service members, citing ongoing notification of next of kin.
