FT: Samsung Discusses €1 Billion Investment in Mistral AI

The Financial Times reported on July 22 that Samsung is discussing an investment in French artificial intelligence startup Mistral AI, citing multiple sources.

Samsung is considering joining a funding round in which Mistral aims to raise several billion euros at a 20 billion-euro valuation, the newspaper reported. The company could invest about 1 billion euros, the report said.

The Financial Times said Mistral raised 1.7 billion euros in a funding round in September 2025. Most of the funding at the time came from Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML, which uses Mistral's AI models.
