Lee and Altman are set to meet at OpenAI’s headquarters in San Francisco.

OpenAI said Lee and Altman will hold a meeting on July 25 in San Francisco with key executives from both companies.

The talks are expected to cover cooperation in AI infrastructure, including high-bandwidth memory, or HBM, DRAM and advanced foundry services. The companies are also expected to discuss ways to link Samsung’s memory-chip and foundry capabilities with OpenAI’s large-scale AI infrastructure project.

Specific chip supply volumes, investment amounts and contract timing have not been disclosed.

The meeting is also expected to include talks on applying generative AI across Samsung’s operations as part of a broader AI transformation. Samsung has decided to roll out ChatGPT and the AI coding tool Codex to all employees.
