World, formerly known as Worldcoin, said July 28 that it has entered the third phase of “The Simple Plan,” a long-term business roadmap that expands its identity verification network across companies, consumer platforms and AI agents, as the project marks its third anniversary.
The company has verified more than 18 million users to date through World ID, which confirms that a user is a real person without exposing personal information. Cumulative global uses of World ID have surpassed 450 million. With the expanded World ID 4.0, World is extending its proof-of-human technology into business-to-business services, consumer platforms and AI environments.
World is also stepping up partnerships with major global companies. It is integrating deep-face technology with Zoom to verify whether meeting participants are the same person, and is developing a feature with DocuSign to verify the party approving a contract. Tinder has adopted World ID for profile verification in the US and Japan. In AI, World is working with Vercel and Okta to apply AgentKit to verify the permissions of AI agents.
The company is also adding use cases in South Korea. After running a pilot program with restaurant reservation platform Catch Table to block bots from snapping up large numbers of bookings, it recently took part as an official partner of the 2025 Nexon Icons Match and introduced an offline-linked verification event.
“South Korea is a key market with high usage of digital platforms and fast adoption of new technologies,” Park Sang-wook, head of the Korea branch at Tools for Humanity, said in a statement. The company will expand partnerships with Korean businesses and develop practical use cases to help restore online trust undermined by AI-based fraud and bots, he added.
