Coinbase CEO Says US Needs Clarity Act to Strengthen Economic Security

Coinbase Chief Executive Officer Brian Armstrong said the US needs a clear regulatory framework for digital assets to bolster its economic security.
In a post on X on August 4, Armstrong wrote that "economic security is national security" and that the US needs the Clarity Act.
The Clarity Act refers to US legislation aimed at clarifying regulatory jurisdiction over digital assets and setting market structure rules for the sector. Coinbase and other industry participants have argued the bill is needed to ease regulatory uncertainty and strengthen the competitiveness of the US digital-asset industry.
