CFTC Warns Prediction Markets Against Using American-Style Gambling Odds

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission sent letters to some prediction-market platforms warning them not to use American-style gambling odds, Bloomberg reported on August 7.
American-style gambling odds use plus and minus signs to show potential returns based on the size of a bet.
The CFTC said companies under its oversight must comply with US derivatives laws. It also warned against deceptive practices in the listing, solicitation or advertising of products.
