Fold, the Nasdaq-listed Bitcoin financial services company, sold a total of 832 BTC in the first half of 2026 to repay debt and fund operations.

CryptoSlate reported on Aug. 12 that Fold sold 200 BTC for $14.4 million in February and an additional 632 BTC for $44.7 million in June. Of the June proceeds, $20 million went to repay a Bitcoin-backed loan, while the remaining $24.7 million was retained as cash.

By the end of June, Fold's Bitcoin holdings for investment purposes had fallen to 194 BTC. Including 77 BTC held separately for customer rewards, its total Bitcoin holdings stood at 271 BTC.

Fold posted an operating loss of $15.6 million in the first half. CryptoSlate reported that the continuing losses could lead the company to raise funds through additional share issuance or further Bitcoin sales, though it said that remains a potential funding risk rather than confirmation that such steps are inevitable.
