Gate.io Says Digital Assets and Stocks Are Converging as ‘Multi-Asset’ Era Emerges
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Investment across traditional financial assets and digital assets is poised to accelerate as the boundary between crypto and equity markets continues to fade.
Lucas Xiong, Gate.io’s head of stock market development, told Odaily in an interview published Aug. 18 that the correlation between the digital-asset market and the Nasdaq Composite has been above its five-year average and at one point exceeded 0.8. Digital assets and stocks are increasingly converging into a single macro-driven investment trend, he said.
Xiong described a “multi-asset strategy” — the convergence of digital-asset markets and traditional finance — as the market’s key narrative going forward.
The real-world asset market has grown from about $12 billion a year ago to more than $30 billion, while tokenized US Treasuries have reached about $15 billion, he said. That underscores the continued expansion of on-chain financial infrastructure.
Gate.io has expanded its stock-market business to cover the US, Hong Kong and South Korea, Xiong added. The company plans to extend the service to more global markets and provide infrastructure for multi-asset investing.
