BounceBit, a CeDeFi platform, has launched a new credit layer designed to offer zero-interest borrowing using tokenized money market funds and crypto investment strategies.

Wu Blockchain reported on Aug. 18 that BounceBit rolled out the credit layer, called Borobudur. Users holding Franklin Templeton’s tokenized fund BENJI and CeDeFi strategy positions can keep earning yield on those assets while accessing BB-denominated credit at a 0% interest rate.

CeDeFi is a financial model that combines centralized finance and decentralized finance. It pairs the operating and management structure of centralized financial services with blockchain-based on-chain trading and yield generation.

Borobudur is designed to bring crypto-based investment strategies and tokenized money market fund assets into a single credit system. The key feature is to let users tap additional liquidity without selling existing assets or halting yield generation.

With the launch, BounceBit is also expanding the use of BB within its capital infrastructure. The company plans to connect existing crypto-based CeDeFi strategies and tokenized real-world asset products within a single credit structure, broadening the ecosystem in which BB serves as the lending unit.
