Crypto Phishing Campaign ‘Operation Asterix’ Targets 885,000 Phone Numbers

A cryptocurrency phishing campaign known as Operation Asterix targeted about 885,000 phone numbers, cybersecurity firm Rapid7 said.

Rapid7 said on August 20 that attackers had obtained about 885,000 phone numbers and used them in cryptocurrency phishing attacks.

The attackers used phishing websites and phone scams to steer users to fake cryptocurrency wallets and steal sensitive information, including wallet recovery phrases.
