MoonPay Adds Cash App Pay, Allowing US Users to Buy Crypto With Cash App Balances
Forecast Trend Report by Period

MoonPay, a global crypto payments and stablecoin infrastructure company, said Aug. 21 that it has added Cash App Pay as a payment option, allowing eligible US users to buy crypto with their Cash App balances.
The move follows MoonPay’s integrations with PayPal and Venmo, expanding its payment links between traditional financial services and the on-chain ecosystem.
After linking Cash App Pay to MoonPay once, users can complete purchases with one tap during checkout without being redirected to a separate payment page or going through additional verification. The feature simplifies crypto purchases by letting users spend balances already held in existing finance apps.
Cash App Pay is available not only on MoonPay’s platform, but also through some partner services connected to the MoonPay network, including Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com, MetaMask, Moonshot, Ledger, BitPay, Uniswap, Tangem, LOBSTR and Edge.
Cash App is a financial services platform that offers money transfers, payments, savings, stock trading and Bitcoin trading. With the integration, users can use their Cash App balances to purchase crypto.
Ivo Georgiev, MoonPay’s co-founder and head of Asia, said the company is continuing to expand ways for users to move from the financial apps they already use into the on-chain ecosystem, following its PayPal, Venmo and Cash App integrations. He added that large fintech platforms linking with the on-chain ecosystem show financial infrastructure is becoming more user-centered.
He also said he hopes familiar financial services and on-chain environments in South Korea will become more naturally connected, helping spread an experience in which users can manage their assets more directly.
MoonPay holds a BitLicense from the New York State Department of Financial Services and a New York Limited Purpose Trust Company Charter. It has also secured authorization under the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, or MiCA, as well as related registrations in the UK, Australia and Canada.
MoonPay said it plans to expand crypto payment access points and improve user experience through payment infrastructure that connects traditional payment networks with blockchain networks.
