Some ships carrying Iraqi crude have been granted permission to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, according to a media report.
BlockBeats, a cryptocurrency news outlet, reported on Aug. 22, citing China Central Television, that Iraq's president disclosed the move after discussing bilateral relations with Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who was visiting Iran that day.
The president said some ships carrying Iraqi crude had been authorized to transit the Strait of Hormuz.
He also said the Iraqi government should address weapons control through talks with militia groups, adding that Iran had not asked Iraq to delay state-level procedures to control weapons.
