CZ Says US Legalization of Hyperliquid Would Expand Decentralized Markets
Forecast Trend Report by Period

Global decentralized exchange Hyperliquid's entry into the US regulatory framework would significantly expand the decentralized finance industry, Changpeng Zhao said.
Zhao, the Binance co-founder known as CZ, made the remarks on August 26 at the 2026 Wyoming Blockchain Symposium in the US, according to Odaily and other outlets.
Earlier, President Donald Trump said Michael Selic, a commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, was pursuing measures to bring Hyperliquid into the US market.
If Hyperliquid is legalized in the US, that would open the door for more decentralized services to enter the country, not just perpetual futures, Zhao said. He added that formalizing Hyperliquid's status in the US would have a positive effect on the broader cryptocurrency industry.
Zhao also said he may be viewed as a supporter of centralized exchanges because he holds a stake in Binance. But his fundamental reason for entering the crypto industry was his belief in decentralization, he said.
