JPMorgan Weighs Issuing Its Own Stablecoin
Forecast Trend Report by Period

JPMorgan Chase & Co., the largest US bank, has internally reviewed whether to issue its own stablecoin, the Wall Street Journal reported on August 26. The move indicates the bank is also exploring a possible entry into the stablecoin market alongside its existing tokenized deposit business.
The discussions remain at an early stage, and JPMorgan is not currently developing a specific product, the Journal said. The bank also said it has no current plans to issue a stablecoin, though it could consider various options depending on client demand and changes in the regulatory environment.
JPMorgan already operates a blockchain-based tokenized deposit service. Traditional financial institutions have recently been examining ways to use stablecoins, and banks are increasingly moving to enter the market.
