U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent pushed back against investor Stanley Druckenmiller’s criticism of intervention in the U.S. Treasury market.

Walter Bloomberg reported on September 31 that Bessent, referring to when Druckenmiller submitted an opinion piece criticizing the intervention, said he would have lost money at the time.

Bessent also highlighted the performance of the Treasury market since the Trump administration took office. He said U.S. Treasuries have been the best-performing market since President Donald Trump was inaugurated.

Druckenmiller had previously criticized Bessent’s efforts to intervene in the U.S. Treasury market.
