ArtToken’s Artcube 2R2 to Present Choi Young-wook, Ha Taeim at Tokyo Gendai 2026

Artcube 2R2, a gallery operated by ArtToken, will take part in Tokyo Gendai 2026 in Japan, where it will present works by Choi Young-wook and Ha Taeim.

ArtToken announced on Sept. 4 that Artcube 2R2 will participate in the fair, which runs from Sept. 11 to Sept. 13 at PACIFICO Yokohama in Yokohama, Japan.

The exhibition will be presented jointly with TAOS GALLERY TOKYO. The two galleries will show works by Korean and Japanese artists at Booth H17 in the Hana sector, which focuses on emerging and mid-career artists.

Artcube 2R2 will showcase works by Choi and Ha. Choi is known for his Karma series, inspired by Joseon white porcelain moon jars. His works are held in major overseas collections including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Spanish royal family.

Ha studied at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris and won the Principality of Monaco Award at the Monaco International Exhibition of Contemporary Painting in 1999. Her signature Color Band series is held by major institutions in South Korea and abroad, including the Seoul Museum of Art, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, and the Monaco Museum of Contemporary Art.

TAOS GALLERY TOKYO, which will share the booth, will also present works by MIKITYPE, whose practice expands the visual form of calligraphy into painting, and Kyojiro Kitoh, who has explored abstract painting for more than 40 years.

Now in its fourth year, Tokyo Gendai is an international contemporary art fair launched in 2023. Global galleries set to participate this year include Pace Gallery, Sadie Coles HQ and Upsilon Gallery. The VIP preview will be held on Sept. 10.

Hong Ji-sook, chief executive of ArtToken and Artcube 2R2, said the fair would introduce Japanese collectors and audiences to the aesthetics and contemporaneity of Korean contemporary art embodied in the works of Choi and Ha. She added that the company would also broaden exchanges between Korean and Japanese artists and galleries.

Hong said ArtToken will continue collaborating with galleries and artists in South Korea and overseas to expand artists’ international opportunities. The company also plans to broaden its reach in overseas markets through goods, art fairs and pop-up stores using artists’ intellectual property.

The joint booth operated by Artcube 2R2 and TAOS GALLERY TOKYO will be located at H17 in the Hana sector of Tokyo Gendai 2026. General admission will run from Sept. 11 to Sept. 13.
