As of 9 a.m., Bitcoin was trading at $76,935 on CoinMarketCap, down 0.59% from the previous day.
Altcoins were also weaker. Ether fell 1.71% and BNB lost 1.44% at the same time. XRP fell 1.48%, Solana dropped 2.08%, Tron slipped 0.62%, Hyperliquid declined 2.43%, and Zcash tumbled 5.40%.
The Fear and Greed Index is a gauge of market sentiment. A reading closer to 0 signals extreme fear, while one closer to 100 indicates extreme greed. The index is calculated based on volatility (25%), trading volume (25%), social media activity (15%), surveys (15%), Bitcoin market capitalization dominance (10%), and Google search trends (10%).
