BlockBeats reported on September 17 that Tenev, commenting on the SEC’s decision that day to conditionally allow limited trading of tokenized stocks on on-chain platforms, said “tokenization is coming to the American market.”
Thanks to the SEC’s leadership, Americans can finally gain access to the benefits of tokenization, he said, including instant settlement, 24/7 trading and natively supported fractional trading.
Tenev also called it “a good day for American innovation,” adding that more users will be exposed to crypto technology and the various financial innovations built on it.
Earlier on September 17, the SEC announced an “innovation exemption” program that would grant conditional regulatory relief for up to five years to tokenized securities trading platforms that meet certain requirements.
