Oracle is investing in 10 wind power projects in Texas to help meet electricity demand from its artificial intelligence data centers.

Cointelegraph reported on September 17 that the projects will have combined generating capacity of more than 1.7 gigawatts and will produce carbon-free electricity.

Oracle plans to use the power generated to run its AI data centers. The investment is intended to secure enough electricity supply to support a broader buildout of large-scale AI infrastructure.

The projects are also expected to bolster supply capacity on the Texas power grid, in addition to providing electricity for data centers.
