Nvidia Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang said the company’s semiconductor unit sales next year will double from this year, citing expanding investment in artificial intelligence.
Huang made the remarks to reporters on September 17 ahead of the Scotland AI Summit hosted by King Charles III, CNBC and other outlets reported.
"AI is making a very significant contribution across industries and the broader economy," Huang said. "We are seeing moves to invest in AI in almost every country where Nvidia operates."
The forecast refers to semiconductor unit volumes, not revenue. Because prices vary by product, a doubling in sales volume would not necessarily produce the same rate of revenue growth. Nvidia does not separately disclose its total semiconductor unit sales.
Nvidia’s product lineup includes data-center graphics processing units, or GPUs, as well as central processing units, switches and optical networking chips, notebook chips, and Jetson chips for robots and automobiles.
When Nvidia reported second-quarter earnings on August 26, it projected fiscal 2028 revenue of about $67.3 billion, up 70% from a year earlier. Huang’s latest remarks are also fueling expectations that investment in AI infrastructure will continue to expand across countries and industries.
