Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House's crypto council, said the Trump administration will continue pursuing the Clarity Act after the bill failed in a recent Senate procedural vote.
The Block reported on September 23 that Witt, speaking at a conference at Georgetown University, said "the future of digital assets is bright" and called it disappointing that the Clarity Act did not pass this time. He added that there may be another opportunity in the future.
In a procedural vote on September 15, the U.S. Senate voted 49-50 on advancing the Clarity Act, leaving the bill short of the threshold needed to move forward.
Witt also said the current administration will work through policy to provide as much regulatory clarity as possible.
