The Solana Foundation has hired former Binance Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Conlan and former Polygon Labs executive Jameel Riaz.
Cointelegraph reported on Sept. 24 that the foundation appointed Conlan as chief strategy officer and named Riaz head of payments.
As CSO, Conlan will oversee strategy for institutional partnerships, ecosystem growth and enterprise adoption of Solana. Riaz will work to expand cooperation between the Solana Foundation and global payments companies, while supporting the buildout of infrastructure for businesses developing Solana-based payment services.
The appointments are seen as a follow-up to the Solana Developer Platform launched in March. Mastercard and Western Union were among the platform's early users.
Solana is also preparing a network upgrade called Alpenglow to shorten transaction finality times. Once implemented, the upgrade would reduce finality to 150 milliseconds from about 12.8 seconds.
