Sooho.io, a digital-asset financial infrastructure company, said on September 30 that it had hosted the Seoul Digital Money Summit, or SDMS, and unveiled a strategy to connect global financial pipelines.

The event was attended by officials from KB Securities, NH Investment & Securities and Meritz Securities, as well as domestic and overseas financial and digital-asset industry participants including global settlement network Partior, Ondo Finance, Tiger Research and Allium Labs.

Participants discussed corporate use of digital assets, cross-border payment and settlement based on deposit tokens, and tokenized stocks.

Sooho.io also introduced SOOHO PartnerHub, a digital-asset financial infrastructure platform for businesses. The service is designed to let companies access trading, operations and other needed services in a single environment rather than connecting individually to multiple digital-asset providers. The company plans to add payment and remittance functions later.

Sooho.io said corporate demand to use digital assets is already emerging in actual transactions. Some South Korean companies are being asked by overseas counterparties to conduct transactions using digital assets such as Tether's USDT and USD Coin, or USDC. But putting that into practice remains difficult because companies need to set up wallets and accounts and connect directly to multiple providers.

The company said it also plans to connect PartnerHub with global financial infrastructure. Through a recent memorandum of understanding with Partior, Sooho.io aims to lay the groundwork for South Korean financial institutions to connect to global payment and settlement networks using deposit tokens. It also outlined a mid- to long-term plan to use deposit tokens as reserve assets for a won-based stablecoin.

"What companies want is not new finance, but the ability to receive transaction payments and use them for the next trade," Chief Executive Park Ji-su said. "We will connect the financial services needed so digital assets can be used the way companies manage their regular funds, and expand that to domestic financial institutions and global financial networks."
