BNY, the global custodian bank, is discussing cooperation across digital-asset infrastructure with Payward, the parent company of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, CoinDesk reported.

Citing multiple sources, CoinDesk reported on Oct. 2 that BNY and Payward are in talks on potential cooperation in digital-asset products, custody, asset management, trading, payments and financial market infrastructure.

The partnership could be carried out through Payward's business-to-business platform, Payward Services. The structure is understood to be similar to the infrastructure agreement Payward recently signed with Nasdaq.

The talks are still underway, and it remains unclear whether the companies will reach a final agreement.

BNY and Payward did not respond to requests for comment.
