Bitmine Immersion Technologies, the world’s largest corporate holder of Ether, bought another 15,112 ETH over the past week, increasing its total holdings to 6,016,414 ETH. That equals 4.9% of Ether’s circulating supply of 122.1 million tokens.
A PR Newswire release dated Oct. 5 said Bitmine’s crypto assets, cash, marketable securities and strategic investments totaled $17.4 billion. Those holdings included 6.02 million ETH, 214 Bitcoin, $643 million in cash and marketable securities, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries and a $117 million stake in Aptco Holdings.
At an Ether price of $2,726, Bitmine’s ETH holdings are worth about $16.4 billion. The company said it has reached 99% of its goal of accumulating 5% of total ETH supply and has bought Ether every week since launching its Ethereum treasury strategy on June 30, 2025.
Bitmine has staked 5,067,309 ETH, worth about $13.8 billion at $2,726 per token. That accounts for 84% of its total holdings. As of Oct. 7, the annualized yield was 2.63%, implying about $363 million in annual staking income. The company said staking its entire ETH position would generate about $431 million in annual rewards.
Tom Lee, Bitmine’s chairman, said he sees crypto as having entered a bull market and highlighted that Bitmine shares outperformed Ether even during the 2025-2026 bear market. Over the first nine months of 2026, ETH fell 10% while Bitmine stock declined 3%, an outperformance of 731 basis points.
He added that the stock’s performance reflects the company’s effort to optimize shareholder returns. In 2026 alone, Bitmine repurchased 21 million common shares, which Lee described as the largest buyback ever executed by a crypto treasury company.
Lee also highlighted Ether’s third-quarter performance. ETH outperformed the S&P 500 by 6,832 basis points in the third quarter despite macro headwinds including a hawkish Federal Reserve, surging oil prices, rising global bond yields and tighter financial conditions.
Bitmine said Lee is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at Token2049 at Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands on Oct. 7. The speech is set to run for 20 minutes starting at 10 a.m. local time.
The company also plans to release its October chairman’s message this week. It previewed the title as “Crypto Bull Market Underway—This Cycle Is Likely to Be the Biggest.”
Bitmine was also cited as one of the most actively traded stocks in the US market. Fundstrat data showed the stock recorded average daily trading value of $827 million on Oct. 5, ranking 125th among 5,704 US-listed equities.
Bitmine joined the Russell 1000 large-cap index on June 26, and its Series A perpetual preferred stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BMNP.
Bitmine is currently the world’s largest Ethereum treasury company and remains the second-largest crypto treasury company globally behind Strategy.
