Coinbase Says Deribit Integration Complete, to Relaunch Pro Service This Year

Coinbase has completed its integration with options exchange Deribit.
The U.S. cryptocurrency exchange said on October 7 that it had finished the integration. Over the next few weeks, Coinbase plans to roll out Deribit-based options trading, spot margin trading and integrated portfolio features in stages.
At the core of the integration is linking the U.S. and overseas crypto derivatives markets into a single liquidity pool through Coinbase Financial Markets, or CFM. Coinbase said it had built a service structure allowing U.S. clients to access global options and perpetual futures markets based on guidance issued by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission in May.
U.S. institutional investors can use their existing Coinbase Prime accounts to trade Deribit options and perpetual futures. Options access for Prime accounts will also be introduced in the coming weeks. Client onboarding has already begun.
Coinbase also plans to offer options trading in the coming weeks to eligible retail investors outside the U.S. Options trading for U.S. retail investors will launch later this year.
Coinbase Pro will also be relaunched this year. The service is designed to support trading in spot, futures, perpetual futures, options and stocks on a single platform.
